Temporary Closure of Community Office
Monday 16 February, 2009 : NewsEffective February 28th, 2009, I will be closing my community office at 442 Kennedy Road.
Over the past year, our costs for the office (including hydro and insurance) have dramatically increased.
When he community office initially opened, I hoped to have various community organizations use the office for free. However, these groups often decided to hold meetings in areas closer to the homes of their members.
Additionally, it has been more convenient for me to visit residents in their homes – especially when visiting seniors or persons with disabilities.
In the mean time, I will be looking for an alternative location that provides me with a smaller space and lower price.
As Councillor, I have a responsibility and obligation to allocate my global budget as efficiently as possible, for the maximum benefit to the community. At this point in time, investing my limited funds into community programs provides a much better result than an underused community office.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like further information.
Thank you for your understanding.
Adrian.
