Work is continuing on the Toronto Transit Commission’s three-year construction project at Victoria Park Station that will bring many improvements to the bus terminal and station area (background information). During the project, the station will remain operational, but access to and from the station and to buses will change during various construction phases.

Work Conducted From October to December 2009

• completion of the new Albion entrance (opened in December);
• completion of the main canopy structures in the new bus terminal;
• completion of road widening on the west side of Victoria Park Avenue from Denton Avenue to Crescent Town Road;
• completion of the retaining wall at the TTC/30 Denton property line;
• completion of the elevated walkway along the north side of the station;
• continuation of work on the new Teesdale Place entrance;
• construction of the new bus platform and associated bus roadway work;
• commencement of road widening work on the east side of Victoria Park Avenue and the new bus exit;
• commencement of work on interior station finishes and elevators.

What to Expect from January to March, 2010

• continuation of construction of the new bus terminal;
• continuation of work on the interior station finishes and elevators;
• closure of the pedestrian bridge from Crescent Town in order to reconstruct the north (main) entrance of the station and opening of a temporary at grade stairway adjacent to the pedestrian bridge;
• completion of installation of precast panel under the canopy structure in the new bus terminal;
• completion of the bus platform area; and
• completion of work on the sidewalk on the west side of Victoria Park Avenue.
