Dear Ward 35 Resident,
Thank-you to everyone who has registered their email address for my e-Newsletter. As I have shared with may of you at the door, every newsletter we send out costs approximately $8,000 because we now have almost 20,000 households in the ward.
Subscribing to the e-Newsletter gives you “full access” to development updates and community events taking place in your neighbourhood. Residents should rest assured that their email address and information is completely protected, and only used for the purposes of contacting you when there is news to report. Sign up today!
Our office received a wonderful response to our first Community Profile. Residents loved the idea of honouring people in the community who have made a real difference. If you have someone in your neighbourhood who has made major contributions over the years, let us know.
Transit City has been in the news. For Scarborough residents, these projects are vitally important. Our current SRT technology is rapidly aging and our growing population needs better, more reliable public transportation to meet their needs.
In Ward 35, we have already seen transit improvements with the new construction of Victoria Park Subway Station. Work will soon begin on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT that will eventually link Kennedy Station with Pearson International Airport. The first stage of this project will start in late summer with the boring of the tunnel from Laird to Keele as part of this 32km project. Stay tuned for more information.
Please remember that this community website works best when we hear from you! Many of you have used our contact form and have offered several ideas to improve life in Ward 35. Make your voices heard!
Until I see you at the door.
Regards,
Adrian
